Another Birthday quilt nears completion

'

Sio's birthday quilt photo op!! SMILE!

So after waiting and waiting for a year Siobhan's fiftieth birthday quilt is nearing completion. Only a year late but its one wonderful quilt...a case of her friends know TOO much about her...

Quilting's done...time for a nap!!

Ille Waters and I put out a call for 10.5 inch blocks almost two years ago along with a suggestion of things Sio likes...like Mary Englebreit, Scotties - her beloved Mac, Anything Halloween, Irish, Army, Boston or Repros of any kind...and these are the blocks we got...

Scotties did seem to be the overwhelming theme of the day...thank goodness they go with the heap of Mary Englebreit we had.

Ille presenting the top to Sio

Ille Waters and Marie Atkinson worked hard at miniretreat to organize and sew the WIDE variety of blocks into a cohesive top...Every time Ille asked if we like the fabric in the sashing "is it too much" we would tell her remember Sio LOVES scrappy...

I think she's happy we finally got the top done!! WOOHOO Marie and Ille!!

Yesterday I sewed the back together and put her on the long arm...and she's just about done...If I didn't put your block on here let me know and I will post it. I did take a pic of everyone's block.

Elaine's heart quilt

Elaine does a beautiful job piecing...giving away alot of her quilts to her family. She has been aging this one for nine years while she finished these family quilts. This one is hers.

Her favorite color is red and she loves flowers and plants and her family - an old fashioned girl. So I gave her quilt wonky feathers with leaves and hearts and flowers...i really like the way it looks and I HOPE she does too:>

I hope she enjoys cuddling under it on a cold winter's nite!!

Wedding Quilts

The Center - hard to see but quilted with the bride and groom's names and the date of the wedding!

Lately we have been besieged by wedding quilts...and it's a good thing ...we LOVE wedding quilts...

Here are two that have been completed recently. Both quilted with feathers and double hearts and ribbons.

Ann S's lovely quilt for her niece. I LOVED the sentiments on this one such as "If the wife isn't happy, no one's happy!"
